Bigbelly is excited to be a sponsor the 2019 ILAPPA Annual Conference hosted at the University of Chicago. The Illinois Chapter of APPA (ILAPPA) brings together the area’s Leaders in Educational Facilities. This annual event welcomes leaders from across the state who focus on innovations, best practices, and how to improve operations for their respective facilities and institutions.
Visit Bigbelly’s table on Thursday, May 16 to learn about how our smart waste & recycling system is making a meaningful impact at colleges and universities both across the nation and right in Chicago, and how it can benefit your campus and community. This event is FREE for anyone in facilities management, not just Higher Education nor only members of APPA/MAPPA or ILAPPA!
University of Illinois at Chicago was the first state university in the Illinois Public Higher Education Cooperative (IPHEC) to take advantage of a contracting vehicle for all 13 Illinois state universities to access the Bigbelly system on campus. UIC expanded an existing base of sixteen high capacity compactors for waste and single-stream recycling in eight locations on campus with an additional 100 components to create a cleaner campus in the windy city, drive productivity, and implement a measurable recycling program.
Carly Rizor, Director for the Campus Grounds Department noted, “Bigbelly allows us to assign our crews more efficiently because waste collection takes much less time. We are able to divert employees to other much-needed assignments across campus and improve productivity.”
We look forward to seeing you there!
