Cost Accountant

Position Description:

The Cost Accountant will be responsible for maintaining all product cost metrics while holding manufacturing cost margins. Analyze actual manufacturing costs and prepare reports comparing standard and actual costs.  Inventory cost management and reconcile cycle counts and period end inventory balances.  Analyze and adjust any inventory reserve balances.

Responsibilities:

  • Collect, prepare, analyze and report weekly, monthly, quarterly, annually gross margin analysis by various products, customers, types, etc.
  • Assist in month-end closing, prepare journal entries as necessary, analyze inventory evaluation, inventory roll forward.
  • Set Standard Costs of manufactured goods.
  • Reconcile any PPV each month.
  • Analyze cost accounting data and assist with cycle count/physical inventories.
  • Maintain internal control documentation and test internal controls.
  • Prepare detailed account analysis and reconcile sales, cost and inventory, and liability accounts
  • Review and analyze inventory and margin reports, conduct research, and perform analytical studies in regard to cost analyses and profitability.
  • Support and assist department reporting requirements such as audit schedules, tax schedules and others
  • Ensure timely submission, accuracy and validity of inventory, gross margin schedules to management
  • Determines fixed costs such as salaries, rent, and insurance.
  • Predicts, plans, and records variable costs such as purchases of raw material, labor, and operation costs.

  • Assists with company-wide budgeting reports.

Qualifications:

Required Skills/Abilities:

North American Channel Support Representative - California

Position Description:

The Primary responsibilities of the North American Channel Support Rep will be to assist Bigbelly’s Regional Sales Director West with a named Strategic Partner, in maintaining and growing the existing Partner, leveraging Partner relationships to drive new business and expanding the Partner network via the Partners newly acquired companies. This roll will combine both a sales and account management/support mentality, as this position places strong emphasis on maintaining and growing existing relationships and earning new mindshare for Bigbelly products.

The chosen candidate will be tasked with cultivating opportunities for new Bigbelly sales through outbound calling, follow-up calls and emails, tracking orders, preparing quotes, assisting marketing campaigns, and inbound lead follow up to Partner. Our candidate should be able to understand the needs and requirements of the inbound prospective end customer (or partner) and utilize that information to smoothly transition the prospect to a field-based channel partner rep.

The Bigbelly solution leverages smart technologies, such as IoT, along with new and traditional manufacturing and materials.

We are looking to add a creative, self-starting mechanical engineer to our current team.  This position is based in our Needham, MA office and offers the option of working remotely a few days of the week.  Ideally, you have experience in design for manufacturing on products using sheet metal and molded plastics and have a proven track record of working closely with contract manufacturers to successfully launch new products.

This role plays a critical part of Bigbelly’s strategy of working with Tier 1 manufacturing partners for our new product launches and continuous refinement of existing products.  This position does require some domestic and international travel.

Bigbelly has an exciting development roadmap for expanding our current capabilities on both the smart physical hardware and our integrated digital media platform.  This position plays a critical role in executing that plan.

You need to be as comfortable working in a SolidWorks CAD mechanical design environment as you are working with actual prototype parts in an Engineering Lab environment.  This position will require you to work hands-on with prototypes and conduct extensive testing of new ideas.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead product development projects from concept to detailed design to tested prototypes to successful production launch
  • Drive cost reduction through new design and new manufacturing techniques

Bigbelly is seeking a Software Engineer to join the team responsible for the design, development, and evaluation of software systems which connect our global network of devices to our API, mobile and web apps.  These systems gather and analyze data, as well as provide control and presentation of data to our users in useful, intuitive ways.

  • Write and maintain existing code for Bigbelly’s web applications and other services

UI/UX Software Developer

Position Description:

We are looking to add a UI/UX Front End Developer to our software development team in Needham, MA. Bigbelly provides the option for hybrid in-office / home, but you must be willing to commit to working in person at the office partially during the week.

This is a technical role for an individual contributor; You must have UI/UX experience defining web applications (mobile application development is also desirable), along with a proven history of working as technical contributor, writing front end code, for web applications.

Bigbelly has an exciting development roadmap for expanding our current capabilities on both the web and mobile application portions of our product.

In this role you will be examining existing products and helping develop new products with the goal of providing modern, intuitive and user-friendly digital tools for our customers and service providers.

Principal Manufacturing Engineer

Responsibilities:

  • Safety: Champions and advocates adherence to safety rules to protect self and others from injury throughout the operation.  Provides manufacturing equipment, jigs and fixtures with features that ensure safe operation. Recommends material handling equipment that prevents bodily injury to the operator. His/her safety advocacy extends to support functions such as Stock Room, Shipping and receiving. To support manufacturing goals below:

  • Quality Assurance: Supports the attainment of the Company’s Quality objectives ensuring product standards and policies will exceed our expectations.
    • Understands and supports quality policies and implements guidelines to assure adherence to quality documents and ISO standards.
    • Improves quality through process improvements.
    • Manages the ISO process.
    • Develops and maintains Quality Assurance Metrics.

  • Leadership:

Qualifications:

  • 15+ years in an engineering discipline in a design and MTO capital electro-mechanical equipment environment preferred.
  • Practical knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and CI process is a must. Familiarity with Six-Sigma methodology desirable but not required.
  • Demonstrated capability to interpret data and trends and develop action plans.
  • Experience working in an engineered product line in a Lean Mfg. environment.

Master Production Scheduler

Responsibilities:

  • Develops Master Production Schedule, monitor workload capacity and inventory. Optimize manufacturing line resources to ensure that output plan, deadlines and internal financial goals are met.
  • Generates the materials drive and production plan based on:
    • Business plan, coordinates with SCM team to ensure material availability for production starts.
    • New product enhancements, upgrades
    • Returned equipment rework.
    • Pilot and prototype run.
  • Conduct regular business and plan execution reviews related to demand and supply with internal stakeholders and production controls to ensure production output plan is met.
  • Coordinates and synchronizes execution plan of product enhancements and new product launches with production and Product Eng. Resolves resource constraints due to competing product demands.
    • Work with cross-functional teams to manage & maintain relevant new product/ feature enhancements milestones as it relates to production readiness and launch plan.
  • Use data analytics to identify, prioritize, and drive root cause corrective actions. Assists in developing both short term (1 year) and long term (3-5 year) materials and manufacturing strategy.
  • Manage the disposition of material and product driven by ECO’s.
  • Facilitates operations meetings as required to ensure successful communication and job execution to meet planned output expectations, financial goals, and deployment targets.
  • Leads the SIOP process meetings to review service levels, performance against schedule, inventory strategy, supply plan to meet demand, and resource implications. Update Master Production Schedule as necessary.
  • Operations custodian of the ERP manufacturing planning and execution modules.
  • Monitors and advises production in developing a rough capacity weekly model to ensure execution to plan, full utilization of resources, and management of bottlenecks. Recommends resource allocations and in-source/out-source tactics.
  • Creates policy, process, and standards.
  • Drives/recommends process change and organizational change management.

Qualifications:

  • Four-year degree in an Engineering discipline, Materials Management, Business Administration, or related discipline desired.
  • APICS certification in Materials Management or Production and Inventory Management desirable but not essential
  • 7+ years of Materials and production planning experience in an electromechanical products environment
  • Demonstrated ability to make decisions based on data trending and intuition.
  • Basic general business acumen that enables sound decision making and clear communication with Sales, Finance and Engineering.
  • Able to interpret industry standards, technical drawings, and manufacturing procedures.
  • Must have strong computer skills in Microsoft Office and be at the expert level in Excel or similar software. Power user status in ERP system, preferably NetSuite.
