During Earth Week, the City of Calabasas brought a new vision for cleaner, greener, better parks to life—introducing smart waste, recycling, and composting infrastructure designed for the way people use public spaces every day.

Unveiled as part of their Earth Day celebration, Calabasas introduced Bigbelly Smart Max and Smart Solar Compost stations across three parks.
Their message said it best:
Love Your Parks. Sort Your Waste.

🌎 From Conversation to Commitment
This partnership started with a conversation late last summer—and evolved through thoughtful discussions focused on getting it right.
City leaders explored their options, asking key questions around cleanliness, efficiency, and how to make composting approachable for their community.
Working together, the path forward became clear: a solution that brings together smart technology, thoughtful design, and real-world impact.
“For us, this was about more than adding infrastructure—it was about creating parks that feel cared for and making it easy for our community to do the right thing. Bigbelly helped us bring that vision to life.” — City of Calabasas
